Our studio is open by appointment only – between 10 am and 7 pm Monday through Saturday. Can folks without an appointment just stop by and get photographed? Unfortunately, no. We have created an environment that allows us to give each client our full attention. If you wish to speak with us about our products and services, please contact us to make an appointment.
Street parking
Yes. If you have a particular date in mind (especially a weekend slot) it’s best to give us as much notice as possible. We’ll always work with you to find the best fit of day and date – remember around key events (such as Christmas and Mother’s Day) our availability often goes well in advance so plan ahead when you can.
We realise that you can’t always plan for every eventuality (especially when it comes to kids) but we respectfully ask that you give us as much notice as possible if you need to change your appointment. Wherever possible we will work with you to re-schedule rather than refund, but where this is not possible our cancellation fee is on a sliding scale in relation to how much notice is given.
Sorry but no. Obviously you can use your phone for making and receiving calls but I don’t allow any videography or photography inside the studio. If you are caught recording or photographing the session, you will be asked to leave and the session will be terminated without refund. All in all, that’s a horrible situation for us all to be in so please respect our copyright.
During your photo session, if there are a number of you, we will take a combination of group poses. With a large family, for example, we'll aim for group shots such as the whole family, Grandparents with grandchildren, generations etc, but are also keen to get Grandchildren on their own, each family group within the family, couples and more. We will ensure you have a variety of images to choose from, and that your images would be suited to both being displayed individually, or in one of our Multi-Wall Products - a popular choice with large families, as they hold many images.
We don’t photograph on location for weddings, but occasionally clients wish to be photographed at our studio in full wedding attire. Or if they are having a small local ceremony without a photographer, they have been known to schedule a photo session on the day of their wedding to capture some sweet moments.
You bet. We just appreciate knowing ahead of time so we can fill the water bowl and dig out our lint rollers. Kindly consult your photographer about the timing of introducing your furry friend into the family photography.
We believe everyone is photogenic. Our skill, expertise and down-to-earth approach will put you at ease. Combined with our simple posing, our knowledge of lighting and beautiful studio space we’ve all the right ingredients to help make you feel a million dollars on a family shoot.
We suggest clothing that suits your personality as a family; whether its crazy patterns/colours to simple classics such a polo shirt and Jeans. Ideally, a good wall product suits the space within it, so if your house is vintage full of antique furniture - dress is darker clothing. If its modern contemporary - Jeans and white tops are always are good statement pieces which are timeless classics and tend to not age. If your home is retro or white with bright colour accessories wear strong primary colours. Co-ordinating with the rest of your family is a must.Successful family portraits are best when family members are all in similar clothing.
As a general rule, monochromatic (sepia-tone, black and white) photography is different than colour. With colour photography, wear natural day makeup. For black and white or brown tone/sepia photography, everything will be in shades of grey or brown, so plan as if you were going out for the evening: a little heavier than your normal day makeup. Even for those who don’t wear makeup, we recommend lipstick or mascara for definition. Wear bare or light coloured nail polish; in black & white photography red nails will look black.
We are most successful in minimizing eyeglass glare for sessions that take place inside our photo studio. Avoid wearing TRANSITION lenses to your photoshoot. The lighting will turn them into sunglasses. If you are very partial to your glasses, you may want to consider having your optician remove the lenses before your session or lend you a pair of frames without lenses in them.
When people ask about ‘airbrushing’ they’re often asking about Photoshop. And the answer is yes, each of your images is edited to make sure everything looks at its very best – that’s why you have to wait a little while after your session before you see them.
No, the vouchers are an offer and are limited to one voucher per family per year. Vouchers are not to be used in conjunction with any other offers or promotions. Vouchers are usually an offer in which the studio runs at a loss promoting when using vouchers all terms & conditions must be met. There is no obligation to purchase further, there is a non-pressured sale however, most of our customers do purchase further, prices start at just £10 for One 5x7 Print.
Yes, your voucher is exchanged for your complimentary prints. All orders are placed on hold until we have received voucher should you have forgotten to bring it along on the day. Any prints included with voucher must be relevant for voucher type. For example, Pet photoshoot vouchers must be of a pet, a family voucher must be two generations and a minimum of three people, etc. Your complimentary print cannot be exchanged for cash or an alternative product. With all our vouchers there is no obligation to purchase further, however, most customers choose to do so, please bear this in mind when purchasing vouchers for a gift for friends & family.
For your appointment to be the amazing experience you deserve, there's a lot of work that goes on behind the scenes before you even step through the door. The experience also gives you access to amazing photographic resources that truly make it a five-star experience. Depending on the type of portrait experience you're visiting the studio for, each session requires a lot of preparation: • We reserve your chosen time in the state-of-the-art photographic studio and the use of the specialist photographic equipment including cameras, lights and backdrops. • Your deposit payment secures time with industry professionals who are assigned to your appointment including photographers, image consultants and retouchers. Your deposit not only secure your time in the studio and with professionals, but it also helps to keep the diary running smoothly for all customers
A refundable booking deposit is taken upon booking your appointment, which covers your attendance to both your photoshoot & viewing appointment. The deposit can be refunded at the end of your sessions. 48 hours’ notice is required if you would like to change or cancel your appointments. If 48 hours’ notice is not given, it will result in a loss of your deposit. If you are more than 15 minutes late for your appointment you also risk, you deposit being lost.
Deposits are £20 for all photography sessions.
Your deposit will be refunded back onto your card once the experience has been completed. Some of our experiences require a return viewing appointment around a week after the photographic session. The deposit will be refunded after the viewing appointment. Please note, if you place an order with us, you have the option to use the value of your deposit towards your order total. For example, if you place an order with the value of £100 and you paid £20.00 deposit, your order total will be reduced to £80.00.
Your photoshoot will take approximately one hour for Family or up to two hours for a Newborn.
If you are not viewing your images straight after your session, we will book your viewing and ordering appointment for a later date. For those shoots with the same day viewing, you will be with us for about 1.5 hours. Your viewing and Ordering appointment will then take place in our studio where your images will play on a large screen. You will view them unedited, once an order is placed it's pass over to our highly skilled digital artists, they will make sure your images are completely perfect. We promise this is not a pushy, pressure sales meeting as for us we are simply helping you make the most of your photographs in the style, and the budget, that suits you and your family.
Most viewings last about up to 1 hour. If you think you require more time to view and order your photos, longer sessions are available please just ask a member of staff. When you're planning your viewing session remember to measure the wall space where you would like to hang your portraits, it will make the viewing easier when it comes to choosing your images to suit planned space, and ensure the wall products are the right size and style for your home.
Bring your partner, family members, anyone who you think would like to see the photos. Full payment is usually required at the time of placing your order at the viewing. We accept most credit/debit cards and cash. We can only keep images that you order at your ordering appointment on file due to storage restrictions. Majority of customers order more than complimentary products so be prepared you may love them.
Children often get very fed up when viewing; most customers prefer to view without their young children.
To get the full impact of your beautiful images we ask that you come back to the studio to view them. We feel that this is by far the best way for you to see the full detail of your images in big at the studio rather than small images with our watermark over them. If an online viewing is something you require, it is £50.00 to do so, which will then be deducted from any order made.
Unfortunately, we can only keep your images whilst they are in production after this any photos not ordered will be deleted. If you would like your images kept on file we can hold them for a maximum of 1 month from the date of your viewing session. The above said, we'd recommend you make your decisions in the viewing, at the time of your ordering appointment. It is always best deciding in the viewing room as that way you can see the options available to you up close and personal. It also means we can design things with you and your home in mind, and so you can see all details within the image. The new GDPR Compliance Laws apply not only to data, but also include images, thus unless images are ordered, or you have permitted us to use them for promotions/display they are not kept on file.
We work hard to make sure that your photographs are ready as soon as possible without compromising on quality. We aim to have your session photographs completed and ready within 14 days from your date
Most families that visit us budget between £50 - £200 to invest in their wall portraits. This gives you options on how you'd like to display your portraits, such as print collections, wall products or even digital images. As we like to say "Family portraits last a lifetime" and "Timeless classic portraits to compliment your home will show off your family beautifully". We have options to suit all homes, with Wall Products, Prints both individually and in packs, Albums, and Digital Files (but if you go with the latter, be sure to get them printed out, don't just let them sit on a USB!). Our prints start at £10 and digital packages start at £95.
We accept several methods - PayPal, Debit / Credit Card, Cash and Bank Transfer.No matter what method you choose, we guarantee that every transaction you make on our site will be 100% secure. All prices are listed in GBP.
Once the products have been purchased, checked, collected and taken from our studios, no returns will be accepted. Due to the nature of many of our products being of ‘digital media’ once the goods have been taken and purchased from the studios then withdrawal from the order is not possible. For Data protection we would only converse with the client who has signed for the order placed. All products are checked and completed before the goods being given. However, if the products are reported as being defective/faulty then Glasgow Family Photography Ltd reserve the right to check the product and if deemed faulty then to send a replacement item. If an order is not placed on the day all images are deleted due to limited storage capacity. Glasgow Family Photography Ltd will not be deemed responsible for products, which do not operate in any device, which is not compatible with the product purchased. All free prints taken on the day will be deemed as accepted once they have been taken on the day of customer appointments. We produce photographic prints as accurately as possible. Please ensure you have selected and check you have the correct chosen images before you leave the studio. For your home printing from the USB purchased from Studios, print colours may differ from what you see from your USB Drive, due to different user/pc settings and monitors. Glasgow Family Photography cannot be held responsible for any colour differences or sizing issues where settings are different from studio equipment. Re-shoot policy – In the instance you are unhappy with the images you’ve purchased you must put this in writing within seven days of your visit. The decision of a re-shoot is at the discretion of Glasgow Family Photography. Where a re-shoot is agreed then we will invite the client back within 2 months of the original photoshoot. We will only offer a re-shoot where we believe it is necessary to resolve the issue. We will not offer a re-shoot for simply extra images or unrealistic personal views about how people should appear. No additional images from the original shoot will be included, as these will be deleted.
